Amazon driver requesting my card details

We all have amazon prime. An amazon driver just knocked and said we had to give card details as it didn't have enough postage. Sounds dodgy as we have Amazon Prime. Is it some
kind of scam ?

Must be, never heard that before and if you are prime delivery is free unless stated when you are at checkout.

I would say so. Postage is always either paid at check out OR covered by prime.

I refused delivery because I got a bad feeling about it and never give my card to anyone who delivers to our door.

You are charged at source (by Amazon or one of it's sellers) so a delivery driver wouldn't know. Even Royal Mail don't ask you to pay the postman, they give you a card and tell you to pay the sorting office/online.

Please report it. That delivery driver needs to be investigated/sacked.

Scam. Why have you all got Prime though, you must be paying a few times for same service?

eldest was living elsewhere when at Uni and had her own prime account.

and yeah, i've had with royal mail and the letter/parcel doesn't have enough postage, but they put a card through and I go down to the collection depot. I'll phone amazon.
