Do you ever get an idea that will not leave your head until you do it

Today I am going to the supermarket to get the ingredients for Florentines.
I do not know why but I have this urge to make them. I can almost taste them as I type this. It started yesterday afternoon and it is all I can think about !

This happens to me too. Especially if I'm lying down trying to relax. I'll realise there's washing in the machine or I need to call my grandma up and I literally have to get up and move / do it otherwise I cannot relax or think of anything else!!

I don't get ideas that arrive, and get a grip on me that I can't shake off until I do whatever it is. What does happen is that I'll often get an idea to do something, and kind of put it on the back burner so to speak, and if it has legs it'll keep popping back again every couple of days maybe until it is sort of fully cooked if that makes sense. Some mixed metaphors I know.

Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night with a great idea and write it down and in the morning it looks completely mad, like 'get three cats' or 'go to Leeds'.
