Wales/Chester schools

Hi, looking for a bit of advice please! I was just wondering if it’s likely my child would get into a school in Cheshire if we lived just across the border in Wales? We are relocating from the south and there isn’t a great deal of rental properties so we might have to widen our area….

It's possible, but not guaranteed and probably only if you select one of the less popular Cheshire schools.
Some of the Welsh schools are better than some of the English ones. Why do you want English especially?

Well I am probably very naive… I have only just started looking into this… but my DS is a bit behind on the language front, I guess I just worried if another language is thrown into the mix it would be too much for him or something

Is he primary school age? It can be the case that learning a second language helps rather than hinders language development. But in any case, unless you choose a Welsh medium school, Welsh language doesn't dominate the curriculum.
