I'd buy a candle and enjoy burning it

I bought the dc nice shoes and got a take-away

I bought another different piece of jewellery with the money I got from my engagement ring, but I don't wear it as it still reminds me of the ex! So don't do that.

I left mine behind (bloody idiot), there were times I'd have loved to buy us all pizza and didn't have any money.

If I had £150 I'd buy myself a nice framed print, something joyful.

Do you want a thing, or an experience?

If you want a thing...as mentioned, be mindful if it will also remind you of your ex.

If its an experience - Spa, just getting your hair and nails done with nice lunch, theatre or a family day out.

If its a thing, I'm afraid my mind is sitting in the practical today...so a nice kitchen gadget...it might just the right time to get an ice cream maker or soda stream.

An upgrade on practical item, like knives or pans. Not the most glamorous but they'd give me joy using them for weeks.

Clothes, books.

A subscription....not sure how many months you'd get but flowers, wine, coffee, stationery, all manner of stuff can be delivered monthly and would treat you for longer than a day.

Id be petty and put it towards something he hates. Hates flowers- a flower subscription. Hates a certain colour you like, id decorate my room that colour.

My divorce cost me nothing. I needed to pay for the stamp on the envelope, and i found 50p on the path that day so that was the stamp money. Makes me smile everytime i remember it years later.

I wouldn't buy a thing because it would negatively remind me where the money came from.

if I had kids I'd do something nice with them as a symbol of something good coming out of the marriage.

if I didn't, I'd take my best friend & rock out for dinner and any left over, flowers.. (She doesn't drink - how we're friends I do not know!! (But 40 years in...).
