Do you like to have your kitchen appliances on trays

Were just renovating our kitchen and dh recommend to put our kettle and toaster on top of a tray or something wooden effect to make them pop!
Im not convinced I think it would make me not think about cleaning that area
Do you have your kitchen items on trays ? Or just on the worktop

Mine are just on the worktop. I'm not sure I can envisage how a tray would make them more visually appealing tbh. But useful for the toaster crumbs I guess.

Yep, my toaster in on a small tray for crumb capturing; it gets wiped down when I do the weekly clean. My kettle is on a largish glass board to save my needy worktop from getting tea stained. Neither make my worksurfaces look cluttered (IMO) but my kitchen is country style rather than sleek.

Only my toaster as it's easy to pull out and decrumb without having to remove everything.

My coffee machine is on a silicone mat so that the spillage doesn’t stain the worktop

The only appliance that pops in my kitchen is the toaster, and that lives in the cupboard most of the time

I have those things inside a cupboard now. Like a breakfast pantry type. If your redoing kitchen why don’t you try and design it so the worktops stay clear for actual use rather than cluttered
