What’s For Tea?

We were possibly going to do a BBQ but it’s cloudy plus DH isn’t keen. I’m going to buy steaks & would welcome any ideas on how to cook them ( usually just griddle & serve with chips, garlic mushrooms & peas). I do have a peppercorn sauce mix somewhere

Anyone??

I like steak with jacket spuds, cauli cheese and any old green left in the veg hospice drawer.

We are having steak fajitas with salad and all the toppings. My older one is off to scouts camp, so will eat whatever I can shove in on the way.

For steaks though, I love a chimichurri sauce, if you have time to make it. We usually have that with chips and salad.

You could try Thai crying tiger steak that is delicious with jasmine rice and some soy glazed greens

We're having fish finger butties

Homemade chickpea & lentil curry with Turkish flat bread and a fresh green salad from the garden 🙂

Bugger !! I actually fancy a fish finger buttie now 🤔

I made the base yesterday so I've just got to cook some potato to top a shepherds pie.

Homemade chippy tonight. Scampi, chips, battered sausages and curry sauce and mushy peas!!

Prawn masala for us tonight. Just digging round the freezer for something for the kids as neither of them like curry.

Chinese marinated pork fillet, rice and stir fry veg here. With a bottle of vinho verde for the grown ups.

Normally at this time of year, DH remembers he’s half South African and braais anything that can’t run away from his tongs. He’ll struggle to complete sunny Friday supper cooked in the oven.

On the plus side, he’s braaiing shawarma chicken tomorrow and salmon on Sunday, so he’ll be happy.

Chips, sausages, beans, and mushrooms

Chinese takeaway! Veg chow mein, mushroom satay and sweet + sour prawns balls. Plus an ice-cold beer in the garden.

I made a massive ham so various bits using that up:

Quiche
Mini pizzas
Macaroni salad
Fried rice

All with ham

I am sick of ham 😐

Out of the freezer - home made chilli, salsa Verde (made from the massive tomatillo crop I had last year). With nachos, avocado, sour cream.

As for your steaks, I would have made stroganoff. And no peas - I loathe them 🙁

Palak ( spinach) daal, rice/naan and a cucumber raita.

Falafel, flatbreads,pickled veg, hummus, and salad.
And beer.

Cold leftover steak in strips on bed of shredded salad with honey and lemon dressing. Cold beer.

Boring tea, couldn't be bothered to properly cook - boiled potatoes, peas, tomatoes, with chicken kyev (dd) and breaded cod (me). I'd have loved a curry!
