HOW to find a quiet holiday?!

Adult female. Solo. Want peace, quiet and tranquility with walking distance to some restaurants / markets etc and the buzz... but a short distance enough to back away from it all. Preferably in Europe. WITHOUT somewhere that advertises kids clubs and sodding babysitting services. A balcony and WIFI. Half board would be nice.

Next May, one week. Budget up to £2k. WHY is this so hard to find?

Take a look at Sunvil. Lots of quiet, small hotels in Greece.

So many places on the planet that match that description. How much research have you done?

Ladylulabelle · 08/06/2023 14:29

Just get an air bnb pretty much anywhere in Europe?

A villa or gite? Hundreds of ones in quiet locations in France/Spain.

Just reread your title - you haven’t done any research as you ask how to find. You’ve answered your own question. Start with research or a travel agent. Condé Nast Traveller is excellent for ideas.

We booked a Mr and Mrs Smith hotel at half term. No children. Total peace. In the middle of the town. Book plane and hotel separately.

Mainly travel republic as that's who I've always used before although it's been a few years since I've travelled. Maybe it's too soon to look for next May? Is expedia trustworthy?

I'd rather not book separately

The Elizabeth apartments in corfu were lovely for a chill holiday , it's bed and breakfast with its own bar and restaurant just outside a little place called Rhoda that has lovely bars , shops and restaurants
It wasn't luxurious, fairly basic but I'd go back like a shot .
There's hammocks in the garden and plenty of pool side loungers , wifi and air con if you want it .

Could you do IKOS on that budget ?

I've booked south of France this year, gite with pool, near beach, close to Antibes
