WhatsApp and Blocking

Seems a rather silly thing to post about but for anyone that’s more tech savvy than me, If you’re blocked by someone on WhatsApp can you still see that persons profile picture or does their photo change to the grey icon once they’ve blocked you?

Their icon will turn grey with no photo. Sorry if this has happened to you. It sucks 😔

That's not true, a grey icon can just mean they have no photo. I have no photo and it's how I and many others I chat to on a daily basis appear. I thought when someone has blocked you the chat dissappears entirely.

The chat doesn't disappear. If they had a profile pic it goes grey if blocked.

If they had a profile pic it will now be grey.
If they have their last online visible you will no longer be able to see it.
If you text them and only one grey tick appears.

All of the above then most definitely blocked

You DO see their photo. You just don’t see an update to their photo.

This isn't true anymore. If you Google you'll see an update that if you're blocked you will still see the contacts profile picture - if they change it you will still see the one they had at the time when they blocked you.
