Hoping to go September/October. Anyone that's been - do you have any hints or tips to make the best of the experience? We'll need seated tickets and are taking our 10 and 13 yr olds, so also looking at decent family friendly hotels in the vicinity.

I’ve been twice, had standing tickets both times. There’s a premier inn in Stratford that’s within walking distance.

Anjo2011 · 07/06/2023 12:08

Yes and it’s wonderful ! We were standing. Agree re the premier inn at Stratford, also the shopping centre is massive so if you/your family like to shop you are in the right place. Also easy access to central London. You will have an amazing time.

Does anyone know how long it will be there? I’d like to go sometime and don’t want to miss the boat

FrenchandSaunders · 07/06/2023 12:09

Fabulous, you'll all love it, it's difficult to describe but you feel they are real!

We went 2 weeks ago. It was fantastic. We had dance floor tickets, and I'm very glad we did. Would recommend you do that over seated. Can't help with hotels as we were there and back on the same day.

I've been twice, once seated and once standing, both just as much fun. It's such a brilliant show!
There is a DLR station right next to the arena and bus routes too so you aren't restricted to Stratford for accommodation if that helps.
When you say make the best of the experience, what sort of thing do you want to know about? The show itself, other things to do in the area?

@User63847484848 Currently it's running to early 2024, they extend it periodically so long as it continues to sell out.

Bsmirched · 07/06/2023 12:49

Thanks everyone! @NBLarsen I'm not entirely sure what I meant TBH, 😊 but it's obviously not a cheap evening out so I suppose I want to make sure there aren't any massive dos or don'ts! Standing tickets are a definite no unfortunately @skippy67.

Not been. However, I have been on tube trains on a few occasions where people have been on the same carriage returning from the show. Never seen people look so happy after a night out.

Bsmirched · 07/06/2023 18:58

@LlynTegid that's great to hear.

just an amazing concert, been twice!

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 07/06/2023 19:07

Yes, it’s brilliant!
Just booked to go again in May 2024.
I’m not sure the standing area allows children. We had seats and we still able to dance for the big songs.
Head over to Snoozebox before or after for drinks. Good fun.
Easy access from the underground via DLR. Station is opposite.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/06/2023 20:04

I went in late November with my DD (20). We went on the dance floor too. There were some songs I had never heard and judging by the confused looks about me I wasn’t alone.
it’s well laid out from location to drinks to toilets. My only gripe is the backing band sang one of my favourite songs not the band themselves 😠.
on the way out they staggered the numbers going back on the train so no mad rush.
Lights and sounds were brilliant and you forget they are avatars . This has now spoiled me for watching ABBA tributes now 😊
We didn’t stay in a hotel as we’re local but YY to staying in Stratford

AngelsWithSilverWings · 08/06/2023 07:44

We went last year on opening weekend. It was amazing. We were seated and the venue is so intimate and well designed that you will get a great experience wherever you sit.

There is a club/bar right outside the entrance that is brilliant according to my friend who went a few weeks ago. She said it really made the evening to start off there. It's all part of the venue I think and I believe it even has a few pod type hotel rooms.

Great, thank you everyone.
