Blue badge parking in Tower Hamlets

I have to travel to London tomorrow and I’m a blue badge holder. I have somewhere booked to stay but there is no parking. I haven’t had my blue badge long so still a bit confused about where I can and can’t park. Any fellow blue badge holders able to enlighten me on how things work in London? Around here it’s easy as there’s no residents only parking or anything. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to just park on a street somewhere near to where I’m staying or whether I should book a paid for parking space online.

In London I"d just book and pay - particularly if you're staying - as unless you find a road with no restrictions for anyone you'll still.be limited to 3hrs.

Ok thanks 😊 probably a less stressful option than driving around searching for somewhere

Exactly. Just make sure the car park is accessible for you whatever you need as I got caught out in the same kind of area a few weeks ago as I didn't check.

For shorter trips there are online maps for some London boroughs showing blue badge spaces. Or I sometimes take a tour on Google street view and zoom in on the road signs! Some car parks will offer a blue badge concession as well so always best to check.

Also check if where you're saying has any BB spaces!

Have you asked the hotel you are staying at? They might recommend/know the closest parking available. Which part of Tower Hamlets?

I know the area well. Which bit are you going to?

Will you be driving the In congestion zone? If so don’t forget to apply for the blue badge discount.

It’s an Airbnb I’m staying at, on Ion Square. Should be ok with congestion charges etc as it’s a motability car so I believe it’s exempt.

Parking situation is sorted anyway, I booked a space on Your Parking Space, a 5 min walk from where I’m staying for less than 20 quid.

Dm had to apply for the congestion charge discount. But the car is not a mobility car, she applied online and got it done fast (according to dbro who helped her apply).
