This ad keeps popping up on my MN threads. WT Actual F are they trying to sell me?

It's like some sort of giant stuffed louse with an arsehole where it's head should be.

And is that a speaker in the arse-head?

I'm freaked out!

Sorry, what? I just googled "tardigrade soft toy" and I still don't understand why there is a market in creepy faceless beige monsters. Children would be scarred for life.

A tardigrade. They're tiny and can survive pretty much any environmental
stressor like lack water. They can survive in space! 🌙 🌌 🚀 🪐

I have no objection to their existence in their natural form as microscopic creatures. But why have they become popular as soft toys, and why are people just saying "oh it's a tardigrade" like it's as normal as a teddy?

Did some Chinese manufacturer have too much beige fabric and not enough eyes to make proper toys?

All I see on almost any site I visit (with ads) is Temu ones. Sometimes they’re borderline sexual content and it’s putting me off visiting those sites. It’s like their bizarre ads have parasitically taken over every website I visit. Their ad budget must be massive.
