Brand New Sofa - DM Accidentally Spilt Black Tea

Had our new sofas delivered last Friday. They are lovely but a light oatmeal colour. DM came over this evening and accidentally spilt her black tea all over the cushion that covers the arm and a little bit on the seat cushion. She's understandably very upset (as am I but trying to play it down). We blobbed it (without rubbing it) with paper towel and then soaked the cover in tepid water and am now letting it drip dry. It looks like it has been scotch guarded.

What's are the chances it's not ruined? I could honestly cry - and probably will when DM goes home! 😢

Try Doctor Beckerman stain remover, the stuff with a brush attached. It's brilliant stuff

Thanks everyone. We do have some of this at home and I agree it's fab stuff. We are going to wait until the covers have dried out to see how they look. If still stained, we will try Dr Bekerman.
