I've been TAing in schools for about 7 years and before this was teaching English (ESL). I've had to find work which fits in with school as a TA (3 DC) but am finding it increasingly difficult to live on this wage.
I have a degree in theology and philosophy so am able to do the year to gain QTS so I applied to do secondary in RE.
I know this is going to be incredibly tough and I don't have much mainstream secondary experience ( though I did work in a special school with this age group for a couple of years).
I have to travel for the interview after dropping my 3 kids at 3 different schools in our area and the journey usually takes about 45 minutes to the place where the interview will be held. It is at 10am. I am just hoping the M5 will not be clogged up on that day!
I am planning to relocate so I won't be doing this journey on the course.
They said they will send me details tomorrow but have said there will be a mini teaching session and then an interview.
Can anyone give me some pointers about what to expect and how I can prepare for this?
I have my degree certificate but have lost my A levels so don't have these to hand. I think I'd need to get some kind of confirmation from the college but this was way back in 1998!
Would I need to take these with me ?
