My cousin's DP has been using a substance called Kratom. I'm not sure if it's some of legal or illegal high... does anyone here have any experience and/or advice to share - should he be worried?

So, about kratom... I've actually had some experience with it. A while back, I was curious about natural alternatives for managing stress and decided to give it a try.

@Sertaracha thanks for replying. Did you have any problems with using it, it was it useful for you as an alternative medicine?

The sale, import and export of kratom are prohibited under the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016. It's not illegal to buy it, the criminal is the seller. It is habit forming although many users insist they're able to maintain low-level use.

The DEA (USA) says Kratom’s effects on the body include nausea, itching, sweating, dry mouth, constipation, increased urination, tachycardia, vomiting, drowsiness, and loss of appetite. Users of kratom have also experienced anorexia, weight loss, insomnia, hepatotoxicity, seizure, and hallucinations. They report increasing cases of psychosis with kratom abuse.

Info sheet from the Royal College of Psychiatrists (GB) here.

I don't believe it's possible to control your cousin's partner's drug use. What was your reason for asking?
