We have Dobble, Uno, travel Scrabble and travel Guess Who but looking for some other suggestions.

Need to be able to take by air and not take up too much space.

Thank you!

Top trumps.

Regular deck of cards for cheat / whist / uno / old maid

minipie · 06/06/2023 17:43

Exploding kittens is popular with my 10 and 8 year olds. Yes to top trumps and regular cards. We also take a notebook and pencil for hangman, consequences etc

Staggersaurus · 06/06/2023 17:44

Bananagrams and travel rummikub

Bananagrams and travel rummikub

Came on the thread to say exactly this! (as well as Exploding kittens).

Pass the Pigs is a good one too.

HubbaBubbaJubba · 06/06/2023 17:46

Mister Lister - small enough to take (and lots of fun for all ages) but you will also need pens and paper.

BIWI · 06/06/2023 17:46

Pass The Pigs - a dice game

Mind you, it depends on the age of your kids, and if they're able to throw the 'dice' (i.e. the pigs) without losing them on the plane floor!

Also Pass The Bomb - but this is recommended for age 12+

FindingTheFox · 06/06/2023 17:47

OK Play
Sleeping Queens
Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
Top Trumps

AristotlesTrousers · 06/06/2023 17:48

Yahtzee.

thatsn0tmyname · 06/06/2023 17:48

Mini/ yellow car. First one to see a mini or a yellow car shouts out mini/ yellow car and pokes the other.

Not many cars to see when you're in the air!

ghostbusters · 06/06/2023 17:53

Twenty questions, and the yes/no game.
No equipment required and his of fun (if you're my kids...).

ghostbusters · 06/06/2023 17:54

*hours of fun.

hotelmotelpremierinn · 06/06/2023 17:54

Ooh thanks for the suggestions!

They're not fans of Top Trumps for some reason - we've had many packs over the years and they've always ended up at the charity shop.

Will probably save the dice/pigs playing games until we get there! (Kids are older but would still no doubt end up with lost game pieces 🙄)

Will have a look at all other ideas 👍🏼

Not sure I want to be the person taking pass the bomb on a plane 🤣

But it looks a fun game!

@hotelmotelpremierinn it's OK! It's very much like a Tom & Jerry cartoon bomb! No-one would mistake it for the real thing Grin

@minipie
I never heard of the game consequences! Love it! I've taken pen and paper for hangman but never this!
Thank you.

ThisSummerBetterBeDarnGood · 06/06/2023 20:13

We really like sleeping queen's

I've just bought a few travel games for our upcoming holiday - we've got Sussed, which is a would you rather game to play in the car, Talking Tables journey buddy cards for the car again, and P is for Pizza - although less a travel game and more a compact board game which we can play in hotels. Our DS gets travel sick if he reads or looks at iPads in the car, so as we're doing a big road trip this year for our summer holiday we needed as much travel entertainment as possible

houseshouses · 07/06/2023 00:25

We like
Kluster
OK GO
Muddles
Uni and dobble (there are a few versions to mix it up)

I love Yahtzee but its too difficult for young kids - great with older ones, and if you are actually playing it in the air, the dice flying about is a complete no. You actually don't need the game, just download and print yahtzee sheets from the internet and buy five dice from the internet, have a pen and you are done as long as you have some sort of cup, so light. My 4 were travel sick so any game that involved just talking worked well (who am i - yes and no questions, also worked on planes) the first one to spot (worked well in cars) whole host of things, red door, man with a dog, woman with a hat, postbox etc, we also liked colouring books and the likes on planes rather than just tablets or phones - anything that was "new to them" went down well. It's old hat now, but we used to have DS lites for the kids and they were brill, absolutely indestructible, long battery and loads of games, not just arcady ones but the nurturing ones or achieve something ones. They also had this thing which I think was called picochat where the kids could talk to each other, draw something for each other and insult each other which seemed to cause great hilarity and no need for bluetooth, wifi, needing to be next to each other etc. seemed to work on its own - very old fashioned now, but it defo kept mine amused.

hotelmotelpremierinn · 07/06/2023 08:14

Thanks all - yes definitely like some of the talking games like who am I etc

A calming environment is created by the exquisite aesthetics, relaxing background music, and symmetrical tile patterns. A moment of peace in the midst of a hectic world can be found by diving into the game and letting its peaceful nature wash over you. Visit Here: Technomantu
