Unsuccessful date night

DP is going away today for a week so yesterday suggested that we went for an early tea to the seaside for fish and chips as it was warm and sunny, and we could finish off with an ice cream walking along the prom.

We arrived at 5.20
The sun had gone in
The restaurant closed at 5pm on a Monday so we decided to get takeaway
We queued for 10 mins
It was blowing a blustery easterly wind on the seafront
A seagull shit on DP’s coat and trousers
We didn’t have ice cream
We were back in the car at 6pm
Thawed out around 7pm

Wasn’t the most successful night out but we had a laugh about it.

😂😂😂

Sorry it didn't go too well, OP.

But I bet you'll remember that date night far more fondly and far longer than any others you do.

Yes, you’re right, we probably will - just like the stay at the Grand Hotel at Scarborough which was memorable for all the wrong reasons too 😀

Do tell....

So, in that way, the date night served its purpose. You hung out, you had fun, you 'made memories' [hate that term].

Okay, it was freezing and DP got covered in shit. But... fun and memories!

You are absolutely right.

The Grand is another story entirely but when I read the latest batch of horror stories from unsuspecting guests, I think we got off very lightly. I also remind DP of that when he suggests Trip Advisor for recommendations of where to go as, at the time, the rating was above 3 but it was a Groupon deal, and we were going to be out all evening at a gig 😀
