Does your town/city have a "Boden belt"?

My friend just made me laugh, describing how she's accidentally moved to her town's "Boden belt", and school runs are full of mums in their 40s all really skinny, toned, and with the image/style of those Boden models (slouchy trousers, etc., on skinny frames). Is this a thing? I have to say, most of the mums in their 40s everywhere I've lived are similar to me - probably a bit mumsy and filling out - and I've lived in a number of pretty middle class areas. Has everyone else heard of "Boden belts" where all the mums look like that?!

Loewe Belt here - in both senses. Filled faces, 4x4’s, Golden Goose.

Just had to Google Loewe as well - wow. Looks like Boden Belt has nothing on that lot 😳

@Moonandstarz that genuinely made me snort. I do have an official dry robe but mine is getting very tatty. Saving it to keep as a beach blanket. But I'm tempted by the primark ones. Can't wear uggs though due to ankle issues. 😁

Lol - I take your Boden belt and raise you an Anthropologie (or Toast) road - with two indie schools on. I spent alot of time having to drive through to get my kids to school in a lesser part of town and studied the style of those mums. Big blousy printed dresses on skinny frames.

The pri-robes are great but prepare to be judged by the dryrobe brigade 😁😁

Nope. My town is an Adidas/Nike trackies and trainers belt.

The snobbery on this thread is quite something.

I dont think you've read it right.

Outside Greg’s no doubt, waiting for it to open?

No one in anyway stylish is wearing Boden these days.

Round here that sort of ‘set’ wear exclusively gym clothes. Sometimes on a Friday, jazzy sweaty Betty leggings.

I came on to say there's none of that round here.

Then I saw your post, looked down at my outfit and felt very exposed...

I sent my DC to a secondary school where Boden was the uniform of the mums. I had to pay for the bus because we were out of catchment, but I was definitely buying "nice" friends for my DC.

I'm surprised there weren't any dry robes because there was an usually large amount of VW campers, some with surfboards, which found bizarre as you can't get much further from the sea.

justawee · 06/06/2023 18:39

I once heard the part of Norfolk I live in referred to as the muesli belt, all a bit hippy dippy.

MillbankTower · 06/06/2023 18:45

Boden? So is a Boden belt another term for grey power- over 60s ?

"ankle issues" ... What, like tags?

derekthe1adyhamster · 06/06/2023 18:52

We have museli mountain, lots of yoga teachers

Jacopo · 06/06/2023 18:54

@Larner 😂😂😂

Crikeyalmighty · 06/06/2023 19:00

Yes it's a bit Boden where I live- but as Boden looks shit on me (far too chunky and small) I'm in H&M ribbed leggings and an old M&S zip up fleece top! ( see my is it bloody freezing or what thread posted today for details)

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 06/06/2023 19:20

I had to Google Loewe and got this message:

Important information for UK customers
^^
We are no longer able to accept online orders under £135, although you can still reserve your items online for purchase in your closest store.

Basically piss off if you’re not rich enough to spend £135 here or to live near one of our stores (which I guess are in expensive areas to live)

Daffodilwoman · 06/06/2023 19:21

This made me laugh. When dcs were little there was a ‘riding belt’ at school. Lots of mums rocking up in riding gear. They had literally come from mucking out their horses.

ArcticBells · 06/06/2023 19:29

@Daffodilwoman I was just about to say Breeches Belt here!

Foxesandsquirrels · 06/06/2023 14:44

They move up to the APS catchment to avoid HGW. It's like the annual dry robe/boden migration.

😁

BlueThursday · 06/06/2023 19:36

Very much fake balenciaga from turkey belt here

Gough20 · 06/06/2023 20:02
