Stage three toddler milks/follow on milks

I am a first-time Mum and my baby is about to turn 12 months old- I am hoping for some advice on follow on milk/toddler milk.

I'm not sure my baby is entirely ready to give up her formula - although she is slowly dropping the number of bottles she is consuming per day, she does seem to get comfort from her bottles still.

I'm reading the follow on milk is a marketing gimmick in some articles and that they are good in others, I'm seeing that Asda stocks something called 'Arla big milk' I'm prepared to pay for the follow on Formula if it is worth getting but the price difference would be a benefit!

In short, my question is - what should I do when she's turned 12 months?

Cows milk is fine. While it's best to try and wean her off bottles for her teeth, she can have cows milk in bottles until you and she are ready to change.

If she's eating a decent amount of healthy food.. just give her ordinary milk! Full fat tho not semi/skimmed.
Follow on milks aren't needed!

I think she's eating a decent diet - she is definitely enjoying her food and is interested in different textures.

I've used follow on milk with both of mine up until the age of 2. They preferred it to cows milk. They would still have cows milk with cereal but follow on for their bottles.

Then you can give her ordinary full fat cows milk.
Before toddler milk was manufactured that's what older babies drank.

My DS is 16 months, and I buy follow-on milk but mix it with full fat cows' milk. Probably 40% formula 60% cows milk. He doesn't seem to like cows' milk on its own

Unless your toddler has a very restricted diet (and thus needs to vitamin/mineral fortification of formula) then cows milk is preferable. Toddler formula is higher in sugar than cows milk, which is not only bad for their teeth, but also can encourage development of a preference for sweet things.

It also has all the necessary vitamins in the formula. I have bought a separate multi vitamin for when he's ready for just cows milk

@Scoobydoobydoobydoo0987 which vitamin please?
