Hope everyone’s having a good weekend. Very busy shift at work this afternoon so glad to be home - about to get changed & sit in the garden with the bunnies. Gorgeous weather here in Cornwall. I may have opened a bottle of Chardonnay! Nice easy tea of ham salad with buttered Jersey Royals then watching BGT final.

Just got back from a mini break, so everywhere is chaos!! Ds1 is playing a new PlayStation game in his room making up for lost time speaking with his mates, ds2 is vomiting 🤮 DH and I are awaiting arrival of a much deserved Chinese takeaway!

SpringOn · 04/06/2023 17:03

Just done a long walk with dogs, kids and then a lovely cuppa and catch up with a friend in the garden. Now having a sit down before doing dinner - sausages on the barbecue with spuds, and then baths and showers for everyone getting bags, uniforms and lunches ready and getting an early night for school and work tomorrow. It’s been a lovely half term, lots of gardening, books and beach days.

MissyB1 · 04/06/2023 17:05

Did a lovely walk through two very pretty Cotswold villages today. stopped in a gorgeous pub for drinks.

Dh is now helping ds revise for a maths exam tomorrow.

HeyMicky · 04/06/2023 17:06

DD1 had a sleepover then cricket, and DD2 had cub camp, so everyone only arrived home about an hour ago. They're both very tired so I'm throwing them in the bath asap.

DH and I have been gardening but I'm currently lying in the hammock with DDog, drinking a beer. Supper is prepped so not much to do

bert3400 · 04/06/2023 17:09

We live overseas. Been out on a boat this morning/afternoon ...was lovely and hot. Now we are all exhausted and awaiting the arrival of some family flying over from the UK. Have to make beds Etc but struggling as think I may have a touch of heat exhaustion and the bottle of cava didn't help 😂😂

RabbitsRock · 04/06/2023 17:10

SwirlyShirly hope DS2 gets well soon & the rest of you escape it!

We’ve just got back from taking the kids swimming. Both have gone off to play Roblox and I’ve got a chicken in the air fryer to make a chicken salad and crusty bread for tea and sorting out my mountain of washing. Dh has gone out to potter in the garden.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 04/06/2023 17:14

Just chilling out in the garden and not long before I go to work night shift 7pm-7am

doitwithlove · 04/06/2023 17:16

Just back from a free local music festival. A good afternoon in the lovely sunshine

Freeballing · 04/06/2023 17:17

I'm in my hammock in the garden having a cider. I have to move soon though, the teenagers will need feeding.

Lottie4 · 04/06/2023 17:20

Just got in from work myself. Currently sat down, catching up online, then I'll read for a bit. DH has put a bottle of wine in fridge and hopefully cooking in a bit. Beautiful clear blue sky here and cats in the garden chilling.

Choconuttolata · 04/06/2023 17:20

No idea I am at work, hopefully DH has it all under control!

CeriB82 · 04/06/2023 17:21

Sitting in the house. Too much sun, too bright, too hot.

bbq later when its cooler. Im 1000ft above sea level and there is zero wind.

Beaverbridge · 04/06/2023 17:23

In house in the cool. Been out in it walking, unbelievable heat today.

lucysmam · 04/06/2023 17:26

We're just about to re-heat last night's Chinese takeaway leftovers 😋 I am starving again.

Everyone else has been in the shower so once we've eaten I'll go and have a long soak & shave, and the girls are off to the shop for some milk & loo rolls. I imagine they'll buy sweets too!

mondaytosunday · 04/06/2023 17:34

Daughter made rare appearance mid day to get some lunch (she normally doesn't eat during the day). Then back to her room for more revision for A level exams this week (one tomorrow).
I have had a very lazy day. Haven't even showered yet and the dogs will just have to contend with one evening walk today (they have a garden). Laundry and cooking dinner is about as much as I'm willing to do. Oh and water the front garden as forgot to do it yesterday.

EllaPaella · 04/06/2023 17:39

It's been cloudy here all morning but the sun came out later this afternoon. I've cleaned the house (full 2 hour job) and then walked the dog along the coastal path while DH has taken DC to the cinema. Stopped for a nice coffee in a lovely Italian cafe.
I'm now in bed having had a shower and listening to the dog snoring her head off, I suddenly just felt absolutely exhausted for some reason.

Greenbrush · 04/06/2023 17:40

Lovely weather today. DH and DS just back from their hobby so DH in the garden with a beer, DS back online with his mates. I’ve just had dinner, loading the dishwasher and getting ready for work and school tomorrow. BGT later with a Prosecco.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 04/06/2023 17:41

Ironed twice today, a big load in the morning then a smaller load half an hour ago, weeded, pruned and watered the garden. Made apricot jam and have been scrubbing the burnt bits on the jam pot. I have sat outside too as it's a beautiful day. Shortly I'll visit mum in hospital then have chicken curry when I get back home. With a drink of something. I've had a busy weekend doing house and garden stuff

BCBird · 04/06/2023 17:42

Nowt
Not on a hood place emotionally so took myself out to one of tgd lovely Shropshire towns and pottered. Temporary reprieve but was nice. Ironing now🙄might reward myself with an icecream afterwards.

ImpromptuGathering · 04/06/2023 17:43

I love the little window on ordinary British life in these threads. In 200 years it's this sort of post that will be do fascinating!

Woke up so late the tea DH had brought me had gone almost cold! Showered, took dog for a walk in the shadiest parts of the park I could find. Picked up my click and collect order, put it away, had a huge salad, a coffee, did some weeding and watered the pots, then a very nice nap. Spoke to uni DS who wants to stay away another week. GCSE DS has just gone out for a walk. Now having a cup of tea before family catch up zoom with my mum and sister at 6. It's a silly time, I always have to start cooking tea during the chat, but there you go. Back to work tomorrow so a bit of prep to do this evening, and I will knit another square for my blanket.

FluffyDiplodocus · 04/06/2023 17:46

I'm working upstairs while DH cooks dinner and supervises the small ones. My DD has setup a little shop and is selling things she's made out of pipe cleaners and pompoms to my DS for pennies. DS is then bringing them to me upstairs as presents he has brought for me because he loves me, and it's gorgeous (though I'm not getting much work done!). Did just have to tell DD off for trying to sell something to DS for all the money in his moneybox - he has autism and was about to go along with it before I intervened. She agreed that 5p would be a fair price after all...

riotlady · 04/06/2023 18:15

DH is at work, DD and I are both shattered from a busy half term so eating Mac and cheese on the sofa in our pjs. We were at a soft play birthday party this morning and the park this afternoon so feeling like a well earned rest.

Tisfortired · 04/06/2023 18:17

Just finished dinner (chicken and chorizo spaghetti) DS1 playing PlayStation and DP is changing DS2 poo nappy while I have a magnum 😋

BeBraveAndBeKind · 04/06/2023 18:24

Just back from a 300 mile round trip to collect the youngest from uni. Went on my own because there wouldn't have been room in the car for DH and Dc's worldly goods. It was lovely doing the drive back with just the two of us and he bought me lunch at services. He's now reconnecting with big brother while DH makes dinner and I sit with the lovely glow of having everyone back under the same roof for a few months.
