Online date guy is married but separated but hasn’t actually told me that.

Been chatting to a guy from online dating. We have our first date coming during the week, and we have talked about lots but not really gone into our dating history or anything.
I found him on Facebook and saw some old posts from less than 2 years ago, showing his wedding. All his recent photos and videos show him not wearing a wedding ring, and no mention of her or photos with her. I’m pretty sure they’re separated but they got married less than 2 years ago so is this something he should have mentioned?

Should I bring up the chat about past relationships to see what he says?

If you’d asked about his status, whether he’d been married before, was divorced etc then I’d expect him to say that he was separated; but at pre-date stage I wouldn’t expect him to volunteer details if you’ve not asked or it hasn’t been a topic of chat yet. Presumably the backstory as to why you’re both trying to date now and what you’re both looking for from it will be raised on the date?

I hope so, I don’t know. I’ve never dated someone who is technically still married before. Just felt a bit like, if you’re married and only recently separated then maybe volunteer that info.

If it’s something that bothers you and you’d like more details then yes, ask him about it. If you don’t ask then he probably isn’t going to assume it’s important to you.
