After I gave birth to DD in 2021, I needed maybe 3 stitches. The mw had her student do them with what seemed to be a little machine, almost like a staple machine but with thread.
I still have a ridge in my vagina where she stitched, compared to when a consultant hand stitched me after Ds (I must have needed more than 30 that time).
Has anyone else had a machine used?
I do feel kind of resentful I wasn't asked what I would prefer, or whether the student could do it. I would have happily waited for a more experienced Dr.
