If my kids love Uno and Dobble, what else would they like?

My kids are 5 and 7 and we love playing Uno and Dobble as a family. I'm looking for similar games that are easy to travel with and don't require reading. Any suggestions?

You might like this at John Lewis:

This looks like fun and suitable for all ages. Keep meaning to buy it but £17+ feels steep

We love the Ghost Blitz linked above. Still play it now and DD is 11. I never win!

Gamewright card games are really good for younger kids. I recommend Sleeping Queens, Rat a Tat Cat and Too Many Monkeys. Gubs is also good but needs a little reading.

Sleeping queen's is excellent.
Rat a tat cat... Good.
Exploding kittens, brilliant.

Sushi go

Gubs is also brilliant.

Blokus! My DS got it for his birthday and we all enjoy playing it.

Ooh I want this!

Go Fish. You can get cards specifically for it or play with normal playing cards. My 6 year old is obsessed. It’s very simple - essentially a version of happy families.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 04/06/2023 11:51

Go fish, animal rummy, fruit salad

FindingTheFox · 04/06/2023 11:58

I also came to say Taco cat goat cheese pizza.
It's so simple but so good!

Me either - DS was unbeatable at Dobble and is also permanent champ at Ghost Blitz.

If they like Star Wars, sabacc is great. It is the game where you can win the millennium falcon like in the films. Much better than we thought it would be.

spudulike1 · 04/06/2023 19:18

We love taco cat goat cheese pizza and avocado smash. Very simple but lots of screaming laughter. and in our case bruises from slamming our hands down so hard!!!

Happyhouralways · 04/06/2023 19:28

Cobra paw, exploding kittens and sushi go are favourites here too.
Also King Domino, can’t remember when we started playing it but it’s picture based with no words

Duttercup · 04/06/2023 19:29

I was skimming and thought your kids were called Uno and Dobble and you needed a third name. Made me genuinely laugh out loud. The reality is disappointing but I'm pleased you've found lots of nice new games!
