Been on sertaline for 7 weeks now started at 50 which seemed to be ok for the first 2 weeks then had a period last week and my anxcity and symptoms got so much worse :(
im waking up shaking and feeling so panicky this lasts until the afternoon we’re I just feel spaced out and not with it then I pick up a little in the evening but then take the tablets again and then repeat:( doctor upped me to 100 4 days ago and my anxiety is even worse. My focus and concentration is so bad like I feel like a zombie :( I thought I’d be feeling better by now? Well the hightened anxcity calmed anyway but I’m feeling worse the anxcity is crippling me up be talking to someone and it’s like my brain dosnt register what I’m saying il then freeze up and don’t wana talk :( I’m ringing gp tmorow but I feel so scared with this medication especially when I’m seeing I should be picking up by 6 weeks :(

I stopped taking it after 48 hours because of how bad it made me feel. It really scared me. It also really upset my digestive system. I read it could take weeks for me to get used to it. I couldn’t do it. I felt so spaced out that day, and I made so many little mistakes at work.
I know lots of people have persisted and found it really helped them.

I was like you for about a week after starting (and I started on a lower dose than you, it was either 20mg or 25mg, I forget now)

From the second week it was better but I still felt weird for about a month

I've been on it for 6 months and I'm now taking 100mg. It has honestly changed my life for the better in ways I could never have imagined. I'm not saying that will definitely be the case for you as everyone reacts differently and I'm not a doctor, but I'm very glad I persisted through the early days

My Mum started taking thrse after my Dad passed a few years ago. They genuinely did wonders for her. He died suddenly so she was frozen bless her, she couldn't cry but they've made such a difference. I take propranolol for anxiety, maybe ask your GP for something like that?
