Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just up & about to brew a pot of tea in my new pot 😊 I'm going to take it into the garden and sit out there for a while instead of sitting in my usual kitchen spot. Everyone else is still asleep & so far there are no dc out playing so it should be nice and peaceful for breakfast.

There's a couple of loads of washing to be done, and a little bit of ironing so dd2 has school shirts for the coming week. Also need to check homework's been done but the girls normally just crack on with it.

Other than that, a lazy-ish day I think. Maybe some crochet and a bit more reading, in the garden. Not sure which crochet project though! I'll leave the girls to their own devices unless they particularly want to do something together.

Leftover Chinese for tea later 😋 then showers and early nights all round I think.

What about all of you? 🙂

Enjoy you lazy Sunday! I didn't get to sleep til 6am. One of my daughters is unwell and she was up at 3am and 5am. Lazy day here too- don't have to be anywhere today! Will sit in the sun then we're going for a walk ( me, oh and 1 of our children!) Xx

We had a late night so all had a lie in this morning which was lovely. DS didn't surface until gone 8 which is unheard of! We're just wondering what to have for breakfast which may involve a quick trip to the shop for supplies, and we're off out later to a lovely restaurant for a roast dinner with the family.

Might head down to the beach for a stroll afterwards and have a chilled evening on the sofa before we're all back into our usual school/work routine tomorrow.

Morning Lucysmam et al

We have the first family bbq of the year for my dd's birthday.
Got my full crew here which is my favourite thing ever.
Sun is out but not overly hot (yet) Perfect.
Enjoy your quiet day Lucysmam and those that have one planned.

Morning @lucysmam hope you enjoyed your tea I always find tea in a pot tastes better!

We are just having a home and garden day today. Have stripped the beds and will put them on the line love seeing bedding flapping about on the line! We've got brand new bedding to go on tonight and I'm disproportionately excited 😂

Back to school tomorrow so today will be mainly spent getting everything together, plus one of my DC is on a school trip next week so need to pack for that.

We may go swimming this afternoon but I'm not sure if there is time.

Roast chicken in the slow cooker for dinner, just a simple roast, frozen roasties and ready prepped veg.

Hoping for my usual self care Sunday evening routine of bath, gin, kindle and an early night.

lucysmam · 04/06/2023 10:03

@Decafflatteplease ooh, enjoy your new bedding! I've been browsing new bedding but not settled on any - I liked a peacock patterned one but it was £££ & I suspect Primarni, or Dunelm, or somewhere along those lines might have similar so am going to aim for a steady mooch into town (with the girls dad for carrying purposes 🤣) on payday.

@Breathmiller your bbq sounds fun, have a fabulous day!

Got a fun day at local playing fields planned. Big council ad all over town. .. With a spelling mistake...
Greyfields. When it is actually Grayfields...
I mean come on! Hope the event is better than the advert!

Good morning @lucysmam

It's glorious here & I've already taken DDog for a long walk on the moors before it gets too hot or busy.

Lots of washing here today plus sadly some ironing to be done. DS has a week of exams tomorrow so will let him sleep in & gently encourage some revision. We're having steak tonight which DH will cook. I'm away for work for 3 days from tomorrow with an early start, so will need to get organised for that. But will also be sitting in the garden 😎

Peridot1 · 04/06/2023 10:17

Morning @lucysmam. Your morning sounds lovely. Glad you got your Chinese yesterday.

DH and I are currently not speaking after a row last night so that’s fun. He’s out gardening. I’m tidying the kitchen etc after having the neighbours in last night for a bbq. I’ll be gardening too later. I might dig a new patio to put him under!

DS is still in bed.

Dog is out in garden with DH. I’m about to take her for a short walk. She can’t do much more these days.

Lasagna for dinner tonight. With salad and garlic bread.

Hoping to manage some time sitting in the garden reading later.

bookworm44 · 04/06/2023 10:25

I'm taking myself off to the cinema alone as dh doesn't seem to want to leave the sofa these days and quite frankly i'm bored of it.

thefinaltwist · 04/06/2023 10:26

Morning. Cinema this morning for me and ds. Dh is helping bil with a car. Then would like to sit in the garden and read. Thats is all planned for today

Breathmiller · 04/06/2023 10:49

Thanks Lucysmam. 💛

itsgettingweird · 04/06/2023 10:54

Meeting family at the lake about half an hour away this afternoon to paddle board!

Housework this morning and then showers, hair wash and dinner later.

AllotmentTime · 04/06/2023 10:58

I’ve got up, exercised (HIIT and then yoga) and come back to bed with a coffee. I’m not quite sure where the morning’s gone tbh 😳

There are a million little jobs I’d like to get done (rehang a picture, give the cat anti worming stuff, fix DD’s light, finish DM’s birthday present, order new vacuum) and also id love to get over to the allotment. Not all of this is going to happen, I need to prioritise.

Susiesue61 · 04/06/2023 11:05

I need to go to Sainsbury’s and buy the stuff to make Christmas dinner 🤨 My friend and her family are coming for dinner and that’s what was suggested- didn’t know it was going to be hot when I offered!!

JamSandle · 04/06/2023 11:06

Clean, food shop, paddle boarding later.

lucysmam · 04/06/2023 11:08

@Susiesue61 Christmas dinner sounds fun 🎄

@AllotmentTime I'm right with you on the million little jobs to be done - I've just washed my tea and coffee jars for the first time since I've been sick! I want to go round all my drawers & sort some more of my Rainbows and Guides things too...I've decided to do my nails and randomly browse t'interweb instead 🤷‍♀️

@lucysmam It always makes me so happy to see you feeling well enough to do some of your normal routine things at the weekend.

Busy day today.

We arrived home this morning after being on holiday, it was a night flight so both the children are asleep as we had to get them up just after 2am and neither really slept at the airport or on the plane.

A few bits to get ready for school tomorrow, luckily we washed all our clothes on holiday, so most can just go directly into the drawers etc.

I’m going to mightly hoopla today, so my poor husband is parenting solo again today and he’ll have the treat of a drunk me rocking home at some point in the night to irritate him. The whole rugby team are going, we’ve done a kind of secret santa for the outfits, I have been majorly screwed over with mine.

AllotmentTime · 04/06/2023 11:31

I made the mistake of asking DH what he thought needed doing and now between us we have 15 jobs. He reckons we’ll get 3 done, I am not impressed 🤣 and, annoyingly, only one of “mine” made top 3 priority!!

….and I’m still in bed so it’s all going reeeaaaaally well 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
