Vaping question - Disposables

Hi,

Has anyone had a problem with disposable vapes recently. I have stopped smoking and switched to these for a few months now. I have been using Lost Mary vapes.

My most recent purchases have tasted different and have a horrible burnt taste quickly, I have contacted the store who are a major vape supply chain and they have reassured me they are real and not fake as I suspected. I opened one up and can see the difference. The one on left is new design finished and burnt tasting, the right is a used old design.

On the search for a new type now, any recommendations gratefully received, thanks

Me too. Gave up smoking after 18 years, 5 weeks ago! Bought 40 from an online retailer all the same flavour. (Menthol)

The 1st box of 10 was fine, the next box I have opened 3 and they just don't taste the same. I am away so I can't open another box. Really frustrating. I buy in bulk to save the money. Definitely something going on with the batch I have!

Although mine are the square sort of shaped ones.

I'd say the burned one is a fake. Firstly look at the outer casing the 'real' one has a ce mark, can't see that on the burned one.
The real one has a serial mark on the canister.
And the battery compartment hasn't blown a hole!
I'm not a vaper OP, so don't know how they work, but I'd strongly suggest you contact trading standards. I'm not against vaping so don't take this the wrong way, but I wouldn't vape any more of your current ones...I'd be really concerned about that burn stain, and inhaling any plastic chemicals into my lungs.

These are an abomination, the batteries are so toxic and they just get thrown away. No one should be using disposable vapes, they should be banned.

Springsandthings · 03/06/2023 21:28

My first thought was the one on the left was a fake too. The CE mark is printed on the plastic casing rather than the bottom metal part.

I have been assured by the retailer that they are real it’s just an updated design the QR code on the box is scanning as real but I am not going to use anymore of them. I might try to switch to the smaller square ones or a refillable if I find one that suits, I don’t want to go back to smoking that’s for sure.

I do save the empty ones to be returned for recycling at the vape store, not everyone throws them away.

Move to a non disposable! Cheaper in the long run and you won't have this issue unless your coil needs to be changed. I use an Aspire Zellos 3 which was about £50 for the kit, could are £8/9 for 5, and I use 1 a week. The liquids, my friend makes and cost around £20 per 6 weeks and we're slowly reducing the nicotine with each batch too.

Not sure about these but We have all moved from disposables to the Caliburn G2. Around £22 for the device. Pack of coils for £10 and the absolute best liquids that are as close to disposables if not better are the bar 5000 liquids. 3 for a tenner. Come in 10mg or 20mg. I gave up 2 years ago using Elf bars and I have tried countless different vape kits and liquids and this set up is 100% the best and closest to disposables I have found :)

uncomfortablydumb53 · 03/06/2023 23:59

Get yourself an actual vape
Elf liq is available in 10ml bottles and over a short time a simple vape kit pays for itself( lost Mary's are £6)
I am a proud vaper( ex smoker) and wouldn't be without mine

Springsandthings · 04/06/2023 10:18

Thanks for the recommendations, I’m going to get a proper rechargeable vape and try the bar 5000 liquids.

Bar liquids are amazing and got me off the disposables. Experiment with refillable pod set ups, I tried a few and didn't like how the vapour was kinda hot feeling before finding one that suited me. It was £20 and I change the pod maybe once or twice max a month. Saves a fortune! I can understand why people stick with disposables though as the taste / sensation is hard to beat with a reusable.

I have this.
It's great in all ways

Sorry to hear about the vape trouble. Switching is tough, and a burnt taste is a bummer. I've had my share of that. Maybe try checking reviews or asking pals for reliable brands? I've seen some good vape pens at www.Dampfi.ch

Hang in there; you'll find your perfect stuff soon!
