So here's the thing: I have been working as a cleaner for the past 3 and a half years, self employed. I've lost a couple of clients recently due to cost of living crisis, I totally understand this. I could replace them easily enough but truth is I don't want to. I have arthritis in both knees and one knee needs to be replaced so being on my feet 5 or 6 hours a day is just getting too painful. My problem is trying to find work in the school hours. I have worked in an office before I used to manage a cleaning company and the hours were perfect, 9 to 3 but when my son started school I had to leave as the job wasn't local to me so I couldn't get to the office for 9 anymore. I've been looking for a job between the hours of 9 and 3 but it seems like its impossible to find anything. My DH works full time but on shift work so early one week, late the following week. On earlys he could do the school pick up but not on lates as hes not home til gone midnight. Can I please ask what other mums in my position do? I do like being self employed as i can let people know when i need to be off in the school holidays but at the same time i wouldn't mind an office job again so I'm sitting down a bit more. Or is there something else i could do still self employed, maybe something from home, i feel like I'm having a total brain fart as I'm having no ideas as to what I could do. Any ideas or advice? Thank you in advance!

I would apply to the school for an admin job or train in the beauty industry like nails etc.

Perhaps a TA, that would give you 9-3 and school holidays. Good luck

Yes schools are in desperate need of teaching assistants now! Your sons school probably is. You can register with an agency or look for ads on council websites.
