Can I kill 4 hours in Market Harborough on a Sunday afternoon?

I have volunteered to drive DM to Market Harboroigh one Sunday in a few weeks time. It's a couple of hours drive, happy to do it. She's meeting friends for an event I do t have a ticket for, or have any interest in.

What can I do in the area from around 2-6pm? I'm outdoorsy, more than happy to go for a walk somewhere, like a potter around (charity) shops, don't mind a cafe, but not for 4 hours!

Foxton Locks is a lovely walk and nearby.

You’ll be fine. Plenty of shops and cafes are open on Sundays then you could walk around Welland park or Foxton locks. It’s really nice there.

Thank you both x

If you fancy a long walk go up Brampton valley way to great oxendon - it’s an old railway line (no railway there anymore) and you can walk through the tunnel. It’s a lovely walk on a sunny day too. If you’ve the means to bring a bike it’s a good cycle too

Some of the shops close at 4 though so I would do that first and the walk to Brampton after.

I don't think the charity shops will be open on Sunday.

But there is Kibworth Antiques Centre a few mins away that is open until 4. You could start there then have a walk at Foxton Locks and a roast in one of the pubs. A nice place to sit and have food and drinks and read in Harborough itself is Mercado Lounge.

There isn't a cinema there unfortunately.

Drive out to Wistow, depending on the date the maze may be open and there is a garden centre and cafe there.
