Kids / adults sizing

This is not an odd knicker fetish thread.

Dts wear boy short style knickers. Age 11-12 in next. The ones they like (fussy) are out of stock. Ordered some size 6 from m and s same style, they are an inch narrower on the waist.

When did you stop buying kids sizes and move into adult, or is it based on style?

DD wears 11-12 in Next... she has some sports leggings from M&S (only place I could find the right colour for school) in a size 6 and they are slightly too long and a needed the pull cord at the waist.

She can wear XXS or Size 4-6 in some tops. Trousers generally too long.

Puberty usually, when their shape starts changing.

My eldest is 15, age 15-16 clothes are equivalent to an adult size 10 but DD1 is a petite size 4 or 6. She would be drowned by clothes in the correct 'age' so we buy from adult petite ranges. DD2 is 13, last Christmas her grandmother bought her M&S clothes in her correct age size but since she is a petite hourglass they were enormous on the waist but too tight on bust and hips. We bought the equivalent in petite size 8 and she looks great.

My 13yr old wears a mix as and when sizing works. Kids sizing is cheaper as no VAT so things like tights why wouldn't you buy kidsbif they fit. ... but thennif they like something in adults 🤷‍♀️ why not! Fab to have double choices... just watch depending on age (and bust size!) Some items can be a little.... grown up!

I wear adult size 8, or kids 13-14.
I find them similar, particularly when in doesn't matter hugely like knickers/t-shirts/shoes.
