Off the hot counter - as in they had cooked it just before, it was fresh out the oven!
Bought Monday, would you eat any of it today? It's been stripped and in a glass container in the fridge

Food safety advice says 3-4 days. I’m not sure I’d eat it today.

No

Food safety advice says 3-4 days. I’m not sure I’d eat it today.

But today is 4 days after Monday.

If it's been in a cold fridge and looks/smells/tastes OK, it more than likely is OK.

I know many people who finish off their Christmas Day turkey on the buffet on NYE and never have a problem, so I'd probably eat it.

I would. Official food safety advice always errs on the side of caution and I think many people waste too much food as a result. If you’re concerned, use it in something cooked where you heat it up towards 200 degrees.

If it smells ok, and looks ok, then it probably is ok.

Cooked chicken in the the fridge section in the shops have dates of up to a month, although, they do get all the oxygen taken out of the package, but if yours was kept airtight then it should be fine too.

GeraltsBathtub · 02/06/2023 15:40

Yes it’ll be fine. Reheat it to piping hot if you’re particularly concerned rather than eating cold.

bonfirebash · 02/06/2023 15:40

I'll stick it on a naan bread and make a mini pizza with it, it'll be boiling then Grin
Just didn't want to waste it but the cat is eyeing it up

No chance. I definitely wouldn't eat it.
