How many pizzas and what toppings etc

We have a party in the garden every summer and I refuse to do the food this year as it's exhausting! We are thinking take out pizza, how many do you think for 40 adults. Also how many of what toppings should we get? Would you also order or make any sides? Thanks for any help

Depends how big the pizza is, but I would say 20 large pizzas, coleslaw/potato salad and big bowl of garden salad

20 large pizzas a minimum definitely.

I'd say 5 cheese, 5 meat lovers, 5 pepperoni and 5 vegi supreme.

(Assuming no vegans)

A LOT of pizza for 40! I'm not surprised you find the catering exhausting.

I would go for maybe 5 varieties, but keep them fairly simple - and make sure there are enough vegetarian pizzas for any veggies after everyone else has taken a slice of margherita!

Thanks for your help, will probably get 22 then with coleslaw etc as we will have nibbles and dips before and apple tart and ice cream after so no one will starve :)

40, people always graze for hours at a party. I’d also do salads, garlic bread and something sweet.

Yep 20-25 large and I'd do cheese and tomato, pepperoni, bbq chicken and veggie.

20 large pizzas as a minimum, with plenty of sides / salads and maybe something sweet available for after.

There'll be someone along in a minute to tell us how their party of 40 got 5 large pizzas and were all absolutely stuffed AND had 2 left over for the week.

If you have any vegetarians/vegans coming I would make half of them vegetarian/vegan because the meat eaters will likely choose indiscriminately, potentially leaving the veggies without enough.

I love meat but often choose vegetarian pizza - something about the combo works better than meat in my opinion.
