London- cool restaurant suggestions

Hi all. We’re heading up to London for the day in July. It’s two adults and we’d like to go to somewhere quite quirky, hopefully that sells nice cocktails. We’re starting off around Paddington station but obviously don’t mind getting the tube later in the day. We don’t really want anything veggie or vegan but open to any other world cuisine.

Check our Gordon’s wine bar. Indoors it is an old cabe, outdoors a beautiful seating area. Only down fall is you can’t book. Wine is lovely, so too is the food.

Ave Mario is super cool but huge and "instagammable". It's part of the big mamma chain also have Gloria and Circlolo Polparo (not sure on spelling!)

For a bit of a different vibe is cafe du marche in Farringdon it's French and just perfect for me.

For drinks you can start here if it’s a nice sunny day. They have many locations, this one is on a boat near Paddington station

Bondi Green (same chain as Daisy Green above) is at Paddington, very insta friendly but awful service, if you don’t mind that the food and styling are very nice. The tables are a bit close together but if you go early you might get lucky with a booth or outside.
In town Sketch is pretty quirky.

For drinks go to the wine bar right by embankment tube, it's sort of carved out underground. There's outside seating too. Reserve if you can weekday early evening as full of workers.

I also like Kiln and Hoppers as mentioned above. If you like Italian I'd always choose a counter table at Bocca di Lupo.
