Full moon and kids behaviour

Call me mad
But

Two days before every single fulll moon my child's behaviour is out of control
Tantrums
Not wanting to get dressed

Lying on floor

Anyone else ever notice this
Two days before the full moon?

Been tracking it now for around 14 months 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

ADHD training I did the speaker suggested that of the moon can move whole oceans (tidal) then it most certainly can have an impact on us considering the amount of water we are made of. I don't know but also working in a school and having a sen child I can say anecdotally it's a thing

Someone delivering ADHD training should not be using unproven anecdotal theories to suggest that it may worsen symptoms.

The guy is an absolutely amazing individual, he was responding to a question about it and offering his opinion. It's an ADHD support group, we all live it every day.

I also live it every day, I was just stating that if you're delivering training it should always be evidence based.

Yep, working in pubs its used to effect the punters too. Triple whammy if it was a sunny bank holiday weekend with a full moon. Guaranteed trouble on those shifts.

I'm a teacher and full moon behaviour is bad but windy weather behaviour is the worst!

When I worked in a care home windy weather used to have a terrible effect on one resident's behaviour. He was severely autistic.

Yes it was recognised hundreds of years ago probably when we were more aware of nature

I work in mh unit it’s definitely a thing. I dread being on call around this time

my periods until I reached peri were inline with a full moon which happens more with women who have 28 day cycles

Mala1992 · 02/06/2023 15:06

It was definitely recognised before. Now it’s like a badge of honour (arrogance) to claim being above or outside of natural phenomena

Just a look outside the window shows the effects of most/least hours of sun in June/December. Let alone on our moods.

We were more directly affected by the changes from new moon to full moon before curtains/black out blinds and electric lighting after sundown. And still are. It just seems so primitive to acknowledge it though

I spent my younger days working in hotels and swear I could always tell when it was a full moon by guest behaviour

Fascinating!!!!!

I had no clue

And I thought it was the day of the full moon when behaviour is bad but seems not

Well with my dd 5 it's two days before

Yes yes yes. Always felt and observed an impact. The new moon can also cause hoo-hah.

Chunkypineapple · 02/06/2023 15:28

The other thing is if your child has worms they (the worms) can be more active during a full moon and lead to aggravation in kids. Gross but true

HRTQueen · 02/06/2023 15:37

Womens periods syncing is often dismissed to as a few scientific research papers has proved it doesn’t happen

yet vast majority of women I know recognise this does happen and can even interrupt how they bleed when using the contraceptive pill

Spanielsarepainless · 02/06/2023 16:05

I used to work with emotionally disturbed teenagers at a residential facility and yes, behaviour spiralled downwards at those times.

It's absolutely not a thing.

It has been researched

No correlation was found between behaviour and moon cycles. Just conformation bias

Lol 😆

DappledThings · 02/06/2023 18:54

Well there's a hell of a lot of confirmation bias going on here.

Indeed. Like I said up thread it's the same as teething nappies everyone has experienced them but apparently they are not a thing either.

Obviously we're all hopelessly unintelligent Muppets who also believe in star signs... Confused

Or you know the alternative is there is actually something in the idea and what that is has just not been proven yet.

Sure. Or it's a load of confirmation bias. Which is somewhat more likely. Homeopathy is hocus as well FYI.
