Gaslighting or strategic incompetence?

Every morning I say “ok google, turn the radio off” and without fail it gives me a cheeky flash before just ignoring my request. Recently it’s taken to replying with “I can’t find Turn the Radio Off on Spotify, do you want to try Radiohead?”

Is this strategic incompetence or gaslighting? i’m at my whits end and tired of having to reach behind the telly to turn its off and on again at the mains.

I love a bit of James but do you think I can find them on Spotify or ask Alexa to locate them? Poor band must have lost a lot of revenue due to incompetent streaming!

Do you have teenagers? They have been known to programme our Alexas to give a cheeky response.

I'm not surprised Alexa is fucking weird. I was watching the I'm a celeb south Africa program and she was flashing and beeping like a mad thing when Janice Dickenson was screeching... 🙂not sure what the problem was

Thank you all, it’s good to know I’m not alone with this. So many people raving about the powers of their smart speakers and mine conspiring against me, I thought it was just me.

Oh yes, my kitchen one will ignore multiple clear instructions but pipe up at a whisper at the Alexa in the dining room when we want music at dinner time. Definitely strategic incompetence..

My Alexa is programmed to confirm that indeed 'it is time for wine' when asked!
Shame I'm on a course of metronidazole at the moment...
