Fancy job titles

Can anyone name some fancy job titles and what that job really is? I recently learnt that a financial consultant just means a sales person flogging insurance but the job title makes it sound really well paid and prestigious.

Can anyone name any more?

Head of innovation = person who drones on about agile delivery

I'm in Learning and Development, every single job title is made up nonsense, gives no insight into what the person does or how they fit within the organisation. Good times.

Director of Executive Assessment

They write interview questions.

Executive Assistant = PA to someone more self-important than other people in the company.

I'm an EA. He also has a PA. We do different things to be fair.

But yes it does sound loftier than it is.

I once had a meeting with a Director of Customer Delight aka a customer services manager. Rolled my eyes at that one.

@Phos what are the differences between your roles?

I know someone who had the job title "Director General of Western Europe".

I could tell you what they did but then I'd have to kill you.

Head of Happiness which I can only imagine was a posh way of being an HR Manager?

Both mean 'spout stuff to inspire people despite it being entirely impractical/impossible to implement'

I'm the Head of Community at my place.

It's like a fancy office manager.

I'm an Operations Director in the pharmaceutical industry, it's very much a 'big' admin job!
