Pizza express offers?

SunnyGrass · 31/05/2023 12:41

It used to be ther was always an offer on for like 40% or via a discount card. But is it now just full price and £15 a pizza these days? Any one know any discount codes or offers? Our local has none showing but always used to have a cheaper day or offer, now it’s really not worth it to go.

Do you know someone with a Unidays account?

Might find a code on there

GoldSilverBronzeTan · 31/05/2023 13:22

Tesco Clubcard vouchers

SunnyGrass · 01/06/2023 13:58

No unidays account and I think my club card vouchers have expired, can’t access the account as can’t find my club card!

Do you have a birthday coming up? I have a free classic pizza this time.

Elior · 01/06/2023 14:02

Last time, it was a dessert which I didn't want.

SunnyGrass · 01/06/2023 17:54

No birthday for a while, any other code options??

Get the app, you can get free things on it. Not amazing but you can build up over time and they occasionally have special offers

Tryingtokeepgoing · 01/06/2023 17:57

I think they’re targeting their offers to establish frequent customers, rather than those that just cycle through coupons when they’re available. The Pizza Express Club is quite generous with its offers as far as I can see. Last time I went I got a pizza and a starter for £17.95, free dough balls, a free soft drink and a free coffee :)

I usually go when I get TWO pizzas (classic and romana) and all those freebies for the price stated! They have established me as a frequent customer but only when the offers are running!

I usually order for collection, but dining in with no offers seems extroarionste and I’ve got the app…..

Ubereats often do Pizza Express offers such as 50% off starters. You can combine with a 20% off ubear eats code or sign up to their monthly delivery trial and get £20 off the whole bill.

SunnyGrass · 02/06/2023 11:26

No Uber here unfortunately @Elior

Have you tried the Pizza Express range at the supermarket? I know it is probably not the same..

SunnyGrass · 02/06/2023 11:44

Sa looking to take family out for a treat, and figured there would be some kind of free starter/dough ball or 20% off to make it work……

The dough balls are always free if you do the online survey on their website if you have the receipt from the last meal. I'm not sure if there is a time limit for it. I can't think what else but I know the feeling and they do run good offers during term time when they have less customers.

BarbaraofSeville · 02/06/2023 12:29

Whether or not they still do offers, you'll probably find it cheaper, with better pizza if you go to an independent Italian or a pub/bar with a wood fired pizza oven. Never understood the attraction of chain pizza places.

SunnyGrass · 02/06/2023 16:02

Agree and we use a local place which is amazing, just needs the kids menu at pizza express for someone who’s celiac and making it a treat for them to have everything that everyone else can have which pizza express offers. I prefer our local pizza place, hence not having built up rewards with pizza express.

While I don't see the attraction of overrated and overpriced private Italian restaurants and much prefer Pizza Express! When people rave about out local Italian places in the local Facebook group I wonder if they are talking about somewhere else. The only downside of PE is the noisy kids - we used to go to Prezzo if PE was too full of kids' parties, but Prezzo has now closed down in our town :(

The supermarket pizzas are nowhere near as good as the ones you get in the restaurants though.

lieselotte · 02/06/2023 17:07

If you prefer your local pizza place have you asked if they can accommodate gluten-free?

Local pizza places may offer gluten free pizza bases, but often they don't have the kitchen space to cook it separately and therefore without contamination. They also won't be as rigorous in training their staff, having policies etc.
Sadly, this is why we often resort to eating in chain restaurants.

I have visited Italy many times and sought out the best food in the right regions. I have usually found it disappointing, overpriced and underwhelming. I know that Pizza Express isn't authentic but I really appreciate it for what it is, they don't mind serving tap water with the meal (a massive problem in Italy - usually flatly refused) and around the same price.
