Chest pain

So for a couple of weeks I've noticed a chest pain/ ache.
Not always but a lot I get it either bending down to put shoes on or when bending back to wash my hair.
The last few times I've washed my hair and wash it in the shower I get a chest pain just above my boobs.
Same when bending down.

It's always in the same area and at different times through out the day, but I don't get it every time I make those movements.

I'm worried sick there's something growing in my oesophagus , that's my brain thinking the worst.

I don't really suffer from heartburn and this doesn't feel like it. Also when I had heartburn in the past I usually feel it a bit lower between boobs. It's an ache I feel.

And because it happens at different times of the day , sometimes I get it and I've not eaten yet.

I wondered if anyone else has felt this and whether it passed or if it turned into something that needed treatment?
If it's relevant at all I did take a course of flucloxacillin and finished them a few days before this pain started appearing.

I've made a reminder to phone doctors tomorrow as I've had this a few weeks now and it's not lessening or worsening but I think it needs addressing.
Just wanted any advice before then

If it's trigger is movement then it sounds musculoskeletal. It's difficult to tell from the information you've provided as it's not really descriptive of the pain itself.

I always find it hard to describe pain.

It's not severe but feels a bit like tightening. When I get it sometimes taking a deep breath can make it ache.I don't really know what else to say.

As soon as I stop bending (either forwards or backwards) the ache goes.

But like I said theres time throughout the day I can bend down and there no pain. It's occasional.

So it aches rather than stabs? Does it come on suddenly and disappear as quickly or is it a gradual onset? Is it tender? Does it radiate? Any other symptoms with it? Have you taken ibuprofen/painkillers? Was there anything significant around the time you first noticed it (recent lifting, etc)?

Yes it aches and it will Stop as soon as I stop bending over or backwards.
It doesn't radiate, it is always in the same spot. Centre of my chest , sternum area.
I haven't taken pain pills just because it only happens in those moments and disappears quickly. It doesn't feel severe enough for me to take anything to stop the pain.
And I tried to remember if I had done anything differently.
I've cleaned the garden about three weeks ago but I didn't notice anything that could cause this. This came on around 2 weeks ago

Sounds like when I had costochrondritis. Sounds more exciting than it is.

Holymotherforkingshirtballs · 30/05/2023 23:05

I was going to say it sounds like chostocondritis too

Zarataralara · 30/05/2023 23:06

You need to get it checked by a doctor. A dozen people here could give you a dozen different experiences of chest pain, none of which might be yours.
fwiw I get costochondritis too. It hurts like hell but wears off when heat is applied.
See a doctor and hopefully you’ll get an answer.

AJ2009 · 30/05/2023 23:07

Mein kraft did you only have it when bending over? I never have it any other time

I can't remember exactly but it was definitely ok at rest so movement made it worse. Hopefully the doctor can check you over and you'll feel reassured tomorrow

Yes I've had that. I also had pericarditis which it sounds a bit like.
