Chickens, now only one left (fox) pts or attempt to re home?.

We started the year with 10 chickens but in the last two months the fox has come and today took two of the remaining three.
Nothing we have been able to do has managed to stop them.
We now just have one very small bantam left- suspect she was a ‘runt’ as unusually small even for her type. She is 5.5 so aged.
We definitely cannot get any more as they will just be taken- we live rurally with open farm land on three sides. Even with an ‘eglu’ coop the foxes managed to get them.
Due to her size and age Im just not sure about trying to rehome and am wondering if having her pts might be kinder. She’s never been alone and I won’t ask her to live without a flock now 😢

Can you rehome to someone with a couple of bantams? I wouldn't put her in with a flock of ex commercial, they'll bully her. It's the right time of year to have a shot at it, without flockdown so she'll have more space. She could even go into a new flock with one new bantam buddy?

We have a sole hen now. She’s old but she’s actually been fine wandering about on her own

There is a poultry rehoming group on Facebook, I think it's called regime and rescue chickens and ducks...ask there and you'll hopefully be able to find a new home for her locally. Good luck!

My mam and dad got one hen left and she's fine on her own 😊
