Glasgow people - Braehead or Silverburn?

It's been a few years since I've been to either but I'm working somewhere between the two this week. Don't want to go into the city centre but somewhere with everything in the one place including places to eat etc. Which one do you think is better?

I prefer Braehead, mostly because it has a primark. Silverburn is good but has a lot of empty units at the moment.

Another vote for Braehead. I think it’s got more going for it just now.

TheMurderousGoose · 30/05/2023 20:00

I find Braehead depressing but it probably has the wider selection of shops.

Puffalicious · 30/05/2023 20:02

Silverburn is better for eateries and it has a TKMAXX, which makes it good. Braehead is probably nicer to walk around, though.

Bibbitybobbitty · 30/05/2023 20:02

Depends on type of shops you want, Braehead has Primark, Silverburn bit more upmarket - white stuff, white company, Hugo boss & similar.

Bibbitybobbitty · 30/05/2023 20:03

Silverburn seems to be filling up it's empty units over past few weeks

Definitely Braehead. Silverburn was great when it first opened but there's so many empty units now. Braehead also has Xsite which has some restaurants too. Personally though for a nice day I really like The Fort but definitely Braehead out of the options you listed.

That's great to hear. I haven't visited for a while.

RelaxingClassics · 30/05/2023 20:05

Silverburn had more restaurants and a cinema better parking and a better layout. But I'd say Braehead has better (more affordable) shops. The Marks and Spencer in Silverburn is shit for womenswear but good for kids wear and the one in Braehead is better for womenswear but not great for kids. It's so annoying!!

traintraveller · 30/05/2023 20:19

Depends which shops you want but Braehead isn't great I don't think.

WillowtreeHouse · 30/05/2023 20:41

Thanks for the replies. DD is 15 and looking to spend her birthday money so Braehead may be a better option.

Braehead is so tired looking these days. I'd say there are much more empty units there than Silverburn. Although there is Primark if that's what you're after and a better M&S

Braehead.

WillowtreeHouse · 30/05/2023 21:16

DD will prob want a Primark and I'd like a decent m & s.

You need Braehead then.
I occasionally treat myself to Yo Sushi there too, Dd loves Stack and Still.
Also, you could pop over to Xscape and do mini golf?
