Where can I find a silver chain for a pendant with a tiny loop?

I’ve been given my mum’s cross, think it’s about 120 years old (been passed down family). I haven’t got a decent silver (or indeed gold) chain. The cross itself is missing a larger loop for chain to go through (it should have two loops; only one still there), so the only way I can get a chain on it is to use the tiny loop that’s still there (about 2-3mm diameter at best).

I imagine if I go to a proper jeweller they’ll be able to find a chain that fits or fix it so one can, but am hoping not to spend too too much just now.

Where can I find a (fairly decent) chain with a tiny fastening, do they even exist?

You can buy a silver jump ring to put on it so it can go on a chain. They are really cheap on Etsy or ebay for example. I think it would be hard to find a chain as for it to be small enough to go through, it would be too small for a fastener.

Try cooksons gold they are jewellery supplier but you can buy individual items from there hundred of chains starting at a couple of pounds

An independent jeweller should remove the ring, thread your pendant on then reattach the ring. I had that done at no extra cost when I bought the chain for my pendant

I would do this. You want something soldered as it's of sentimental value.
