DS is 10 in a few weeks and I am looking for ideas for gifts and maybe his party as I am very behind on things this year.
What did your same age DS love ?

He is a v typical 10 year old - loves football,
Lionel Messi , Nintendo switch , Minecraft -has asked for a phone but that comes next year !
Also shown interest in a bedroom makeover as it's very much as it was when we moved here when he was 3 !

All ideas welcome !

No party! Book an experience day like indoor karting or a driving lesson for him something like that, we do this for our dd. As for presents I would revisit the phone thing if you could. All the kids in my dds Yr 6 class have had them from year 5 and I genuinely think she was one of the last to get one. I had misgivings at that age but now it seems odd not to have done it sooner. Having said all that shes dropped 3 by being gormless and thats not fun!!!

Football kit. Tour of his favourite club, or national team stadium, if that is possible. Tickets to watch his team or, if he already goes, his national team. Programme subscription. If you do a bedroom makeover, you could make it football themed - my club does wallpaper, duvet sets, cushions, lamps, rugs etc.

We had a gaming bus! They all loved it.

We booked a tobogganing party at a ski slope activity centre approx 30 min drive away. It was great!

Not budging on the phone ! Partly as not one of his friends has one yet , also DD wouldn't forgive me if he got his a year earlier than she did and lastly if I could turn back time to the days before DD had a phone I would ! Not ready for it all to start with DS yet .
Loving the experience days idea though - I had looked at a driving lesson previously but I think DH was nervous he was too young .

Then give him the bedroom makeover! With maybe extra stuff too like new pj's/ slippers etc to wear for new room etc or cushions/covers in his fave theme- footy etc and a friend round for sleepover in new room? Then get a film on & pizza ordered for them.

Deffo the bedroom makeover- he cant really ask friends round if his room is from when he was 3 can he? He'll be at high school before too long he desrves something more 'grown up' for his room.
