Flying ants in kitchen

Please help. Any suggestions? It’s been over a week now and it’s beginning to affect my mental health.

Every morning there are 100+ either dead, crawling or mating. I’ve tried a home made remedy, commercial sprays and a pest control technician, all with little difference. I’m going to try peppermint oil and am even considering blocking up the couple of vents in the kitchen. Hand holds appreciated, I live alone with my son and don’t want him to see how much this affects me (grew up in a council block with a cockroach infestation which lasted over several years and it really impacted me) this is bringing back horrible memories of feeling powerless and lacking control of my lived environment.

I spray Raid around doorways, vents and skirting boards. I only need to do it once a year as it protects even when dry.

Thanks for your reply Pixie. I’ve already tried Raid though I didn’t do the skirting boards and window sills so will try this.

They usually come into the house via the skirting boards/cracks/door step for me which is why I spray there. Have you found out where they are coming in?
