Bakewell- self catering

Hello
My Husband and I are looking for self catering accommodation in or near Bakewell for September. We usually stay on a lodge park but can't seem to find one that appeals. We've looked at Rivendale but the lodges don't look very cosy.

We want to go to Chatsworth House and Poole's Cavern so anywhere nearish those 2 would be ideal.

Any restaurant/good food place recommendations would be appreciated too.

TIA

Wheeldon Trees Cottages

Last year we stayed at Farditch Holiday cottages Chelmotrton for a friends birthday. It was very well appointed, comfortable and spotless. It was between Buxton and Bakewell and not far from Chatsworth.

We stayed at Monks Cottage in Buxton a while back. It's two double beds with a hot tub. It's slightly out in the countryside but close enough to be within walking distance of Buxton (about 20 - 25 min). Which is good because you can have a drink whilst out for dinner. Buxton has a number of decent restaurants (I think better than Bakewell) and Buxton Brewery is a good pub which great beer. We did a full week up there despite only living an hour away and enjoyed. I think we went to a nice little tapas place in Buxton which I enjoyed though I can't remember the name of.

It definitely works better for Poole's Cavern too.

From there you can get the train to Bakewell if you want rather than driving. The Taproom at Thornbridge brewery in Bakewell does a great (and not too expensive) pizza and that's always my place of choice to eat in Bakewell over the rather mediocre pubs which can be very busy especially over summer.

Thank you all so much. Wheeldon Farm and Farditch both look perfect.

Can you park next to your cottage here?

Yes there was plenty of parking. We had 8 of us and 4 cars there.
