Can any Londoners help me?

Hi, DH and 2 x DS are lucky enough to have tickets for the FA cup final next Saturday. They are flying into Stansted and then need to get to Wembley Stadium, but I've just heard there is a train strike that day. They are flying back the same night so have a return journey as well, after the game.

Can anyone with local knowledge help us to plan this? I'll be hugely grateful!!

I don't think the Stansted Express is part of the strike so I would get that to Liverpool Street and then the Metropolitan Line all the way to Wembley Park

Actually looks like a reduced service but you should be ok

No problem! It's a bit of a minefield with different operators/different unions and different days!

But if you do find yourself stuck, there's a coach point outside the terminals. Book National Express online to Golders Green - every half hour or so, and then a bus to Wembley.

Thank you both! The power of Mumsnet, I feel a lot less stressed about it now!

I might be inclined to just book the national express just in case things go wrong. Golders Green to Wembley isn't a bad journey and less likely to be affected. Worst case scenario you could get an Uber.

Yes, good thinking. I'll speak to DH.

I would book the coach: the trains will be rammed and may be less reliable than they say.

Just coming back to this thread to say thanks again for all your help. The stansted express and underground worked really well and everything went smoothly!
