I’m hoping it’s a publicity stunt and a way of getting themselves known more, but come on!! (Pun not intended there)

Did no one look at that picture there and go…that’s not a particularly good looking dish

I thought it looked like chocolate cake on top of some wafer thin ham. Even after reading the description it isn't tempting me to eat it and I will generally eat anything.

I don’t eat cake so I wouldn’t eat it anyway, but this just looks very unappealing

I also thought chai was a type of tea

The trend for making things bigger and bigger disconcerts me.

We used to have fairy cakes. They're not big enough so now everything is a cupcake. But we need to add more so let's pile on a ridiculous amount of buttercream and make it a 50-50 cake-cream ratio. Now let's put an entire second cake on top of it. It's like three desserts in one.

Same goes for doughnuts - first they were simple rings. Then they were covered in icing. Then they were doubled in size and stuffed. Then they've started putting Oreos or other biscuits on top.

And they wonder why we're incredibly overweight as a nation...

That looks vile.
I have a massive problem with people dumping one treat on top of another. When did it become a thing?!
Sticking a Bueno/Biscoff/Mars bar/meringue/jammy dodger out of the top of a Brownie/muffin/cheesecake never improves it in my opinion. You wouldn’t stick a pork pie on top of a sandwich or a scotch egg into a quiche would you?
I appreciate it’s probably just my pet peeve though!

I have a sweet tooth and I would always choose the pudding over the starter but really dislike this super sickly trend for cupcakes. It’s not indulgent it’s crap.

Totally agree, seems like everything has to be as extreme and over the top as possible.

Who looks at this picture and thinks good one. I mean it’s a ridiculous combination but brownie triangle, upright pressed into cake, diff et et shade of icing, sauce in a tiny pot/ jug on the side and the photo would be inoffensive.

I looked at their page and the rest of the cakes don’t look awful… they look very very sweet but seem very popular. I’d personally rather have a cinnamon bun from Gail’s but good luck to them.

I agree. I had a proper Victoria sponge the other day and it was delicious.

I like a nice glazed or sugared donut or a butterfly bun.
I don't like the trend for everything to be piled on top of donuts, cupcakes, milkshakes etc. Sometimes simple is best.

I definitely thought that cake had ham in the middle 😂

That was my thought — like it was the booby prize in one of those (possibly apocryphal’?) stories about groups of men/boys all masturbating on a biscuit and the last one to ‘arrive’ has to consume said biscuit?
