Gig arrival etiquette?

DH is taking DD(12) to a gig on Monday - one of her favourite bands.

The gig is in a large stadium. It starts at 5pm and looking at the park and ride bus timetable it's not likely to finish until 11pm.

There are 2 support acts. None of which she has heard of but their music is similar to that of her favourite band.

Can they arrive at say 7.30 ish? They are in seats.

I think they will get bored waiting until the main band come on.

That’s what I’d do. I’m of the age where I’d like no warm up act and for the band to be finished by 9pm !

Yes they can arrive at any point.
Unlikely the main act will be on before 8:30 / 9 and lots of people don't go until just before that.

You can arrive whenever you want. Most venues advertise the actual start time of the gig - typically 8ish. Doors opening at 5 is just for the super crazy who are standing and want to be at the very front

As others have said it's perfectly fine to turn up when you want to. I only get there early if I really want to see the support act or if I want to get a good standing spot in the crowd near the front. Often leave during the encore if the public transport home is tight time wise but that's because I once got stranded at Wembley when the crowd control restrictions after the gig delayed us so much that we and many others missed the last tube.

Ah yes! Doors open at 5! So if they head there for 7 they will probably have to queue but it won't be such a long evening.
