We are flying in to Nice airport and really looking forward to exploring. We aren't hiring a car. Does anyone have recommendations for places to visit by train and cheap airport transfers please? From what I can gather there are only a couple of public buses per day at the wrong time for us. Taxis are too expensive No response when I query this with the hotel

The buses are frequent and well used - take a short trip to Eze - a medieval village and also there’s a longer trip to Grasse where all the perfumes are made and you can tour the factories.

San Remo’s ok but there’s not much to do. You can get the train to Monaco for the day if you want to venture further.

how Long are you in Nice for? I’d personally just potter around the cours Saleya (the market theme changes every day), eat all you can eat mussels, visit the ice cream stand in the old town, climb the waterfall to get “that” classic view of nice and just sit and sip wine

There is not much to see in Sanremo except a market you can do in a few hours.

Easy train rides will take you to Monaco, Nice and Cannes.

In your place, I would rent a car and see all the other gorgeous areas this region has to offer: Eze Village, St Paul de Vence, Villefranche...
