I had a job interview for a job that is the same as what I currently do (copywriter in a niche area). I had an interview and they were really positive, said how they are hiring lots of copywriters as their business is growing. They said positive things during my interview like joked how they didn't want to wish me luck for my other interviews, and they would say things like 'ohh that's a great answer!' 'that's just what we want to hear', etc.
After my interview HR got in touch and said they had had very positive feedback from the team, and I now needed to complete a copywriting test (normal for my area). I put a lot of effort into the test, but needed a bit of extra time as I emailed HR to ask a few questions and they took several days to reply as they were on annual leave (it was a new test and I had identified an error in the test so needed to clarify).
I didn't receive any acknowledgement of doing the test, and 2 weeks later I've now received an automatic rejection email with no feedback given.
It's completely knocked my confidence. I have another job lined up anyway, which I start soon. I feel like the company that rejected me saw me for who I truly am which is someone with no talent or skills, and the job I'm about to start didn't evaluate me properly and I'm going to be a huge disappointment and get fired. I had a quick 'meet the team' call with my new company and was kind of quiet and shy as I was nervous, and I'm worried they will revoke the job offer as I don't fit in or came across too quiet.
