Anyone currently in southern Spain/Costa Del Sol?

We have a much anticipated holiday next week and the weather... doesn't look great. We will make the best of it no matter what happens but for packing purposes would be great to get some info from someone on the ground.

Is it drizzling all day or brief showers interspersed with sunshine? Is it's still hot on cloudy days atm? Short and Tees or trousers and jumper?

It's been warm and sunny for a couple of days. We had bad rain earlier in the week it's forecast rain tomorrow and then sunny the rest of the week. It's not drizzle it's never drizzle 🙈 it's heavy rain but it tends to blow over quickly

Oh and it's about 24 degrees so not red hot but not cold either. Been a bit chilly at night so bring a cardigan.

Fab, thanks @bijouxtt that's exactly what I needed. The BBC forecast suggests raining all day which I was hoping was wrong. 24 degrees is absolutely perfect for us - kids don't actually like it much hotter than that and I love it when it cools down a bit in the evening to help you relax and sleep so that is all in all wonderful news. Thanks!!!

We are off there too. I always check met office as I find the BBC forecast very pessismistic!! It looks like a chance of rain here and there next week-hopefully it will be ok. Bloody typical the one year we decide not to stay in the UK.

Am in South Spain at the moment. It's been lovely since Wednesday (about 25 degrees). About 19 and cloudy on Tuesday but heavy rain last Sunday and Monday.

Echo this! Currently in murcia. We have a young Dc so not being too hot works for us. We just did a coffee crawl on one of the rainy days (don’t drink alcohol) - it was fine. Been at the pool last two days! I’ve found google / bbc weather fairly accurate although very slightly pessimistic.

Anyway regardless of the weather I’m enjoying spending time with Dc and hubby with no usual routine chores at home and hubby actually off work. Dc is having the time of her life and enjoying us both being around

Coming back to this incase it's useful to anyone - we arrived yesterday and a heavy storm was forecast all afternoon; actually it was cool and overcast as we arrived (which was pleasant for moving our suitcases about) and we did see a few drops of rain so we took out raincoats out to lunch but by the time we'd finished lunch it had blown over and was gorgeous and hot. This morning it's bright and sunny. Absolutely lovely.

Not the Costa del Sol, but we’re in Mallorca, and the weather forecast was horrendous. I packed trousers and a raincoat.

Well, it’s been overcast but still warm. Today is bright, hot sunshine. I’ve had to buy two sundresses. So take forecasts with a pinch of salt.

I was there last week and forecast looked awful. We had lovely weather 90% of the time. There was a storm during the night and a bit of drizzle on one day.

Peanutbutteryday · 31/05/2023 13:22

Agree - its super hot and sunny here in murcia this week. A game changer compared to last week’s rain!
