Wtf is this pain!

Just woke up with the most horrendous throat pain. It's not down my throat when I swallow (so not the tonsils) but up between the throat and nose. It feels like I have an egg-sized bit of thick mucus stuck there or something and it's causing unbelievable pain.

Honestly I usually have quite a high pain threshold but this is something else!

The pain is radiating all the way to my ear and I feel super sick. I went to bed feeling perfectly fine, not even a hint of a cold. My glands in my neck aren't swollen or anything.

WTH is this?

I get this when I am sick and my sinuses are clogged. Eventually I will spit out a massive mucous mass. Sorry that sounds disgusting!!!

Urgh yes it feels like that's exactly what I need to do to get some relief. I keep making a snorting sound to try and get rid of it but nothing is "coming out".

Need painkillers or I have no chance of being able to sleep!

I'd get some Sinutab or Sudafed in the morning OP, be careful if you're taking painkillers through the night though as both contain paracetamol. Hope you feel better soon

I ended up downing some of the kids calpol as that's all we had and got a bit more sleep.

Feeling rotten this morning, very similar to when I had bacterial tonsillitis but just not on the tonsils, only everywhere else in the throat.

I can't move too much without feeling like I'm going to throw up :(
