How many sausages would you give your 11 year old? These are taste the difference ones, so biggish.

Well...
i was going to post what we actually did this week but thought I’d be mocked.

6 pack sausages
3 in sausage pasta fed two of us over two days
the other 3 in sandwiches for 2 days for 2 ( me and teen dd)

How do you get 4 sandwiches out of 3 sausages Confused

What does sex have to do with it?

Boys generally eat more than girls

Rummikub · 26/05/2023 07:49

@MyNewWittyUserName

each sausage cut down the middle. And I put one split sausage between 2 slices of bread plus ketchup. That’s my 2 sandwiches for my lunch today. Dd had one sausage per slice of bread.

TheChosenTwo · 26/05/2023 07:50

Ds is 11, he would be given 2 and more often than not he’d go for a third.

Thesearmsofmine · 26/05/2023 07:56

2 or 3, it kind of depends what the rest of the meal is.

Talipesmum · 26/05/2023 08:06

There’s 4 of us so we buy two of the 6 sausage taste the difference packs and cook all of them. Then usually dole out 2 each and if people want their third one they can have it, or they can save it in the fridge for a sandwich or snack the next day. The 12 yr old usually has the 3rd sausage and the 14 yr old usually saves his. Depends on how hungry we all are.

If they came in packs of 8 I’m pretty sure we’d just have 2 each. But they’re in packs of 6 and one too important cooking rule is Always Cook All The Sausages. They will never be wasted.

My 10 year old doesn't like sausages but he's a bottomless pit (and skinny as a rake!) so if he did I reckon he'd easily eat 3.

@Talipesmum this is what I need to do. I've learnt my lesson.

My very skinny 14 year old has 2.
Me, DH and DS(11) have three each.
Then DS(14) has first refusal on the lone remaining sausage, followed by DS(11). If neither boy wants it, DH will eat it.

You will never regret this. Sausages. Mmm.
